Meet the Directors for 2021!

Hello everyone,

It comes with great sadness to share that due to our current registrations, Hunua Easter Camp is unable to take place this year. Yesterday our early bird extension closed and we can now see that our minimum target for this camp is out of reach. Some people have shared that due to the uncertainty around Covid-19 there have been cancellations from their churches, and we know that there has been some hesitancy in general for bigger gatherings overall.
We know that this virus is unpredictable with Auckland going into level 3 last week, and as we are still in level 2 there may be more unexpected events before Easter. The directors and I want to respect your youth ministry by allowing time to debrief together and consider other options over the Easter weekend so you don’t miss out on other opportunities. We are deeply sorry for this decision as we know there were many of you very excited for this camp after it was unable to take place last year due to the level 4 lockdown. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch and I hope you all have a lovely Easter.

Thinking of you all! – The Hunua Easter Camp Directors Team.

Below are the Directors who were going to organise Hunua Easter Camp for 2021

EMMA PAGE (HEAD DIRECTOR)

NORTHERN PRESBYTERY YOUTH COORDINATOR

Hi my name is Emma Page and I am the head director for 2021’s Hunua Easter Camp. I have been the Northern Presbytery Youth Coordinator for seven years and look forward to meeting everyone who will attend camp! I am excited to see what God will do in the lives of those who attend Easter Camp as it provides opportunities for deeper connections with God and new friendships to form. Not to mention all the fun activities that will be on offer too!

Iona

IONA ROBINSON

YOUNG ADULT LEADER AT SOMERVELL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Third year as a Director! I am so excited to be back and leading another Hunua Easter Camp! In my day job I am a high school teacher at Selwyn College and I have a passion for working with young people. I am invovled with our young adults at Somervell Presbyterian Church in Remuera.

Easter is one of my favorite weeks of the year and it’s all because of Hunua. I love catching up with old mates and meeting new campers, having heaps of laughs and seeing how God works everyone at the camp. This will be my 13th year and every camp is a totally different mix of games, themed dinners and memories.

MING XIE

YOUTH LEADER AT ST HELIERS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Hi I’m Ming and I am originally from Taiwan, I have been in beautiful Aoteorea since 2017. This will be my first EASTER CAMP with other experienced directors/leaders. Easter is the where all the story begins for us as a Christian. Jesus died for our sin because God loves us and we can live a new life because of his death and resurrection!
I am expecting to have some fun times and mint chat during the camp. Looking forward to meeting you all this Easter 🙂
